Q.  What is a chocolate dipping fountain?
A.  A chocolate dipping fountain is a food grade stainless steel machine that is specifically designed to allow chocolate to flow in a liquid form. A motor driven inner corkscrew rotates and brings the chocolate from the heated base to the opening at the top of the fountain where it overflows down the tiers and into the basin. The warm curtain of cascading chocolate gives the illusion of a chocolate waterfall. Your guests use skewers to dip a wonderful array of fruits and desserts into the molten chocolate.

Q. What kind of chocolate do you use?
A.  Only the finest Belgian “couverture” chocolate is used in our dipping fountain.  This type of chocolate contains 33% more cocoa butter than regular chocolate which ensures a superior quality taste, aroma, appearance and flow.

Q. Do you ever re-use your chocolate?
A.  NO!  We use freshly melted Belgian chocolate for each event.  At the end of your reception, we give you a container of chocolate from your event.  The remainder is discarded in a trash receptacle.

Q.  What is the maximum number of guests that the chocolate dipping fountain serves?
A.   The fountain rental package you choose will determine how many guests your fountain will serve.  Our “Little Dipper” package includes Belgian chocolate for up to 125 guests.  Our “Big Dipper” package includes Belgian chocolate for up to 300 guests. We can also supply you with multiple fountain rentals to accommodate parties larger than 300 guests.

Q.  What are the table and electrical requirements for the chocolate fountain?
 A.  Please provide us with a very sturdy (must hold 100 lbs.) and level table for the chocolate fountain to operate properly. Kindly have the table skirted with linen to coordinate with your chosen color scheme.  We require a grounded, 120 volt electrical outlet with 15 amps within 10 feet of where the fountain will be operated.

Q. Who is responsible for the setup, maintenance, breakdown and cleanup of the fountain?
A.  Fortunately, we do all the work for you! One or two (depending on the size of your fountain) professional, uniformed chocolatiers arrive approximately one hour prior to the arrival of your guests.  At that time, the fountain will be assembled and the table will be decorated.  We DO NOT bring our equipment into your reception while it is ongoing!  The chocolate will be poured into the fountain and run when you are ready for your service hours to begin.  At the end of your affair, the chocolatier will dismantle, clean up and remove the fountain.

Q.  Is it necessary for an attendant to stay during my event?
A.  Our Little Dippers chocolatier stays at your event to ensure that the smooth flow and proper temperature of your chocolate dipping fountain are maintained throughout your entire event. If chocolate runs low during your reception, the attendant will add more. If a dessert accidentally drops into the fountain, the chocolatier will locate the dessert and discard it.   In addition, the fountain attendant will assist your guests with dipping and make certain proper health and safety standards are enforced so that you and your guests enjoy the fountain to its greatest potential.

Q.  At what time during my reception should the chocolate fountain be served?
A.  This is a matter of personal preference.  Some people want the fountain to be offered to their guests during the cocktail portion of their reception, while others specify it be served at the end of the affair as their dessert.  We can accommodate you in either scenario.

Q.  How long can I have the chocolate dipping fountain at my event?
A.  Our chocolate fountain rental packages include UP TO three hours of service, not including set-up and breakdown which are on our own time. There is extensive labor in melting the chocolate for your event, preparing the fountain, as well as cleaning the fountain and its parts after your event.  For this reason, we do not discount our package for parties that last under the 3 hours of offered service.

Q.  What can be dipped in the chocolate fountain?
A.  We will work with you and your caterer to provide a delicious array of food to be dipped into the chocolate.  If you are using a caterer, please provide us with their name and telephone number and you may also provide them with ours.  We will jointly decide the best dipping items for your event.  The possibilities for dipping are endless!  You can dip strawberries, apples, bananas, pineapple, pretzels, marshmallows, cookies, rice krispy treats, smores, cream puffs, waffles, donut holes, biscotti and more. If you are not using a caterer, we can provide a wonderful assortment of dippers for an additional fee.  Feel free to inquire about our packages.  We can also customize a package for you.

Q.  Are there any desserts that are not recommended for use with the fountain?
A.  Small berries (raspberries, blueberries) that fall off skewers easily, foods like cheesecake squares that melt, and cakes that crumble tend to compromise the smooth flow of the chocolate in the fountain.

Q.  Can the chocolate dipping fountain be used outdoors?
 A.  We highly recommend that you use the fountain indoors.  Outside weather conditions  as well as flying insects can influence the flow of the chocolate.  In the event that you desire the fountain for an outdoor event, please make every effort to shield the fountain and be aware that we CANNOT guarantee proper functionality for outdoor events.

Q.  Do you provide any decorations for the chocolate fountain?
A.  We take great pride in our breathtaking, custom fountain presentations.  Each of our fountains is displayed with decorative fabric, floral accents, and elegant serving platters to coordinate with your chosen color scheme and theme.  Kindly view the photos on our multimedia page to view past events.

Q.  What areas will Little Dippers Desserts service with chocolate fountains?
A.  Our chocolate dipping fountains are all the rage in South Florida.  We serve Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Martin counties.

Q. Is Little Dippers Desserts licensed and insured?
A.  Absolutely!  We adhere to the highest standards for health and safety in the chocolate fountain industry and we will be happy to supply your caterer or reception venue with the necessary documentation to verify our coverage.

Q.  When and how should I reserve my chocolate dipping fountain?
A.  Chocolate fountains have become increasingly popular at all types of special events.  Although we have a large inventory of fountains, weekend dates fill up quickly.  Check with your caterer or reception venue to make sure you are allowed to hire your chocolate fountain vendor of choice.  Contact us as soon as possible to see if your desired date is available.  Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis.  We require a completed contract and a $250.00 deposit at the time of your booking.  The remaining balance is due one week prior to your event.  We accept credit cards (American Express, Visa, Mastercard), personal checks and cash on delivery.
